#Figging Gabrielle

I don't really know why the idea of figging is such a turn on. It's probably one of the most taboo things for me at this moment in time.

If I think about what I write and how explicitly I write it, I'll admit, I blush a bit. Even as I write this post, I'm a little embarrassed. It's funny, if it's in the pages of one of my books, I don't feel that way. Maybe it's that if you're reading the book, if you're reading that naughty little scene, well, we're in on a secret. I wrote it and you're reading it. That secret is safe between us. Weird thought, huh?

Anyway, on to figging. I like it. I like the preparation, the mental place it puts you to to receive the ginger as well as the physical sensation - to a point. I've written two figging scenes so far and kind of backed away from them for a bit just to do something different but I'm going to bring it back into my next book I think. I'd love to read more books where figging is used but they're not that easy to find. Or I live under a rock so recommendations are welcome.

For now, I wanted to share a snippet from Taught to Kneel where Gabrielle has asked for punishment and Julian is the one whom she trusts enough to give her what she needs. And in case you weren't sure, yes, he brings the ginger...

Julian went into his room and closed the door. He was hard already at the thought of what was to come but he wouldn't decide until after the punishment if there would be sex. His priority was Gabrielle. It had taken courage to ask for what she'd asked. She trusted him to deliver what she needed. She trusted him completely.

He unpacked the ginger he'd bought and set the bottled water in the small refrigerator. He then took the small fruit knife and went out on his patio. There, he peeled the thick pieces of ginger root and began to carve them.

Her punishment would be thorough tonight, inside and out. She might be sorry she asked for it in fact. Julian considered his feelings for Gabrielle. She was beautiful and he was attracted to her; that went without saying. But her nature, her softness, her innocence… it all made him feel very protective of her, very possessive. She was a woman he could see himself with for longer than a weekend or a few nights.

But he pushed those thoughts aside. She needed him tonight. She needed him to chastise her. He'd come to terms with the part of him that gained satisfaction from giving discipline. But her trusting him enough to give herself over completely, to give up her safety net, that fulfilled a whole other need.

He checked his watch. Ten minutes to go. He placed the carved ginger root in the refrigerator and stripped off his clothes to have a shower and change.

                                                                                   * * *

Gabrielle knelt in the corner farthest from the door. He'd be here in less than five minutes. Her stomach was in knots, goose bumps raised every hair on her body, and her nipples were pebbled hard. Moisture lubricated her throbbing pussy, her lips spread open, hungry, waiting.

The key turned in the lock and her heart all but stopped. When the door opened, she dropped her gaze to the floor and listened as he closed and locked the door, set the key on the table beside it, and approached. She could see from beneath her eyelashes that he wore dress shoes and black slacks. She dared a glance up to see him set the grocery bag from earlier on the table and quickly dropped her gaze again when she caught his disapproving look. He was dressed in a black suit with a white button down shirt that was open at the collar. His hair was still wet from his shower and seeing him like he was while she knelt at his feet, naked, made her want him like she'd never wanted a man before.

She listened as he took off his jacket and set it over the back of the chair.

“Look at me, Gabrielle,” he said.

She swallowed and lifted her eyes to his. She watched while he rolled up his shirt-sleeves, recognizing once again the power in those arms, those hands.

“Tonight I'm going to punish you hard. I expect you to submit and take your punishment unbound, but if you struggle or resist, I'll bind you. If that happens, you'll receive additional strokes. Do you understand?”

She nodded, eyes wide.

He stepped closer and took hold of a handful of her hair.

“Ow!” She reached instinctively for his hand.

“Words, Gabrielle. This will be your only reminder.”

“Yes. Yes, Sir. I understand.”

He released her. “Good. Stand up.”

That wasn't a question so she didn't answer. She rose to her feet, but she was unsure whether to meet his eyes or not and so she kept hers to the ground.

“Climb on the bed, on your knees and elbows. Keep your legs wide and face forward.” He moved to retrieve whatever he'd brought with him.

She couldn't see the item while she moved into position, feeling the sticky moisture drying on her thighs while she situated herself, settling on her elbows which lifted her ass high.

She heard his feet on the tile floor and couldn’t help glancing back when the bed dipped beneath his weight.

A sharp slap to her buttocks quickly readjusted her position.

“Turn around again and I won't stop at one.”

“I'm sorry, Sir.” He was being harsher than he had been before, harder on her. It turned her on and frightened her at the same time.

“This,” he said, just as she felt something cold and rough at her anus. “Is ginger root. It's about two inches long and two finger widths wide.” He pressed and she clenched. “And this is exactly the reason we're using it tonight. Relax your muscles and push against it. It will go easier.”

She mewled and although she wanted to do as he said, she just couldn't.

“I won’t be using lubricant or the ginger won't serve its purpose. Do you know what that purpose is Gabrielle?'

“No, Sir.” The sting had already settled along the rim of the tight passage, giving her some idea when the tip of the root penetrated her entrance.

“The ginger will cause a burning sensation from the inside. It will hurt but you may find it pleasurable. If you clench, however, the sting will become more intense. I plan to whip you tonight and I want your buttocks soft and unclenched for the punishment.”

He was going to whip her, just as she wanted but feared.

“Bear down, Gabrielle. Put your face on the bed and bear down.”

Could this be more humiliating? She laid the side of her face on the bed and pushed, feeling the ginger slide in as she did so. It wasn’t altogether unpleasant at first; in fact, when it was all the way inside and he released it, she worked her muscles around the cool intrusion and she knew if she reached back and touched her clit, she'd come.

But after a few moments, she knew exactly why he was using the root.

Rituals

I love 8:31 am. That's just a minute after the school bell has rung calling all the lovelies inside and I can head back home - to peace. I love that moment of absolute silence, complete stillness, when I'm alone again. After a few moments, I pour a cup of tea, sometimes I listen to Krishna Das and, if I'm not feeling terribly lazy, practice a little yoga. I light a candle then I just sit. It's lovely.

Silence has a sound. A very specific sound. I used to think it came from outside but the longer I'm at this, the more I realize it's coming from inside. And it doesn't change. As much as things change around me, weather, people, feeling up or feeling down - any of it - that silence doesn't change. It's always there and it's always the same and I can rely on it always being there and always being the same.

Then it's time to get behind my computer and actually write. I can think of a hundred ways to put it off - Facebook, email, checking my Amazon stats because truly, I'm a slave to it. It's awful. But at some point, I just have to sit down and write. I know why I put it off - it's because I'm afraid I won't be able to do it.

At this moment, I'm working on a book I've wanted to write for as long as I can remember. It's probably the hardest thing I've ever tried to write. No, not probably, it is. It's a little darker, it pushes a little more. It pushes me a little more too. I don't know if it will ever see the light of day and if it does, it could be awful, but I just have to do it. Ah, anyway, I'm putting off writing now too. See that? So I'm off…

I'm going to rename my blog Random Ramblings and Spankings…

Thanks for reading. Have a lovely Friday and enjoy the weekend all.

BDSM is a hot topic these days, but for couples or sexual partners who are just opening their minds to the concept, that doesn't make it any less strange, or even intimidating. The sad fact is, most of us are conditioned to look at BDSM, or even light erotic discipline (such as spanking or playful bondage) as something kinky or even improper. Fortunately, this is starting to change. Sex is increasingly present in popular forums in recent years (in sex blogs, films, television shows, etc.), and with this shift it is becoming apparent that what once seemed weird or kinky may be more common than you imagined. Just check out this article on Alternet.org.

The real hurdle, though, is jumping from accepting BDSM as a common practice, to practicing it yourself with your partner. So, how can you open your mind and body to the exciting sexual thrills you're missing out on? Here are a few ideas that might help you out.

Read About It
Perhaps the best way to familiarize yourself and make yourself mentally comfortable with it is to read about it! There's no denying the excitement you can feel reading an erotic novel or a personal account on a sex blog, and the experience can be beneficial in multiple ways. To begin with, it opens your mind to new ideas. Additionally, however, it gets you excited about trying those new ideas for yourself.

Watch It
If erotic literature, even at its most descriptive, doesn't quite get you on board with spanking, bondage, etc., there's certainly no shame in watching some kinky videos. Even if you're just looking to satisfy a curiosity, you might be surprised at how much these videos turn you on and make you crave a similar experience.

Start Out Light
Don't make the mistake of assuming "BDSM" refers to a strict relationship, or a physically painful sexual encounter. While many reach these situations eventually as they branch out from lighter BDSM, you'll most enjoy starting out slow. Invite some discipline into the bedroom without sacrificing your physical enjoyment or the sensual quality of sex.

Use Toys And Props
Trying new things in the bedroom without any assistance can often be a bit awkward and forced, and ultimately unsatisfying. On the other hand, toys like Adam & Eve cock rings, handcuffs, whips, etc. can all make your foray into BDSM far more exciting and pleasurable.

Try Only With A Trusted Partner
Finally, don't try this kind of sexual encounter with a stranger. You may eventually get to the point at which you simply have a different sexual style that you use in any encounter that suits you. But if you're hesitant about trying out BDSM, you'll probably want to wait to try it with a trusted partner. This will help you to ease into things more naturally.

BDSM vs. Spanking/DD

I was chatting with my friend Katherine Deane last night over a discussion that was going on on Facebook. It was the conversation over BDSM vs. Spanking/DD. I didn't actually comment on the post itself but read the back and forth and 'liked' the comments I liked or agreed with or thought were clear. I actually began to write my response to it but then deleted it mostly because I hate to take sides and when this conversation comes up, it seems like you sort of have to. I have this very naive idea of one big happy family - why can't we all just get along…blah blah… Just to clarify, no one was even arguing. It was a friendly conversation.

Back to my talk with Katie. I told her about a dream I'd had a few nights ago where I was crying and my husband was comforting me. I was upset - well, it's probably easier to just tell you what I was saying. It went something like "I think I'm not a BDSM'r, I think I'm a Spanko…" My husband was patting my back and saying "It's ok, you can be both. It's ok."

Yep. You can giggle. Go ahead. Katie did :) Take your moment then carry on reading.

Ok so this dream and the conversation and why the heck do I care anyway??? They're all just labels, right? Maybe it's human nature to feel more secure when you can fit yourself inside a neat little box safely labeled "Vanilla" or  "Spanko" or whatever which absolutely isn't possible, I know. My thought is that all of this is kind of blurred - at least in my mind. I think I straddle a line myself. In my personal life for sure. In my writing, I think I'm doing more spanking romance these days but I don't know, a part of me battles that, wants to cling to being on the BDSM side for some reason. Maybe it's more trendy or something, who knows? Just a need to know where I belong? Or just to belong.

Anyhow, this is a total ramble because it's a sort of cluster in my mind and I'll leave it for now. More posts to come on this, I'm sure (apologies in advance), but that's it for now. Thanks for reading and have a lovely day.
