Today I wanted to share a piece from Aching To Submit from Michael's point of view. This is a small snippet the morning after her first spanking - to which he reacted differently than he expected…

He’d liked spanking his wife.
Was that it or was it that he’d liked hurting her?
Her submission had thrilled
him. Having his instructions followed, his orders obeyed… it made him hard
thinking of it even now.
The paddling had come more naturally than he’d thought
it would. Standing her in the corner—Christ.
She’d obeyed without question once
he’d asserted his position, his dominion over her. It thrilled him.
But he still couldn’t wrap his brain around that one word: sadist.

DeleteOne of my favourite things about Aching to Submit is how you seem to get every emotion spot on. Michael spent his life learning one mode of behaviour and then, in order to satisfy Sophie's deep desires he spanks her and to his horror gets a kick out of it. Guilt and confusion are totally natural. There is beautiful empathy in that snip

I haven't read it all of course, but he doesn't seem like a sadist to me. When your wife ask to be spanked, and he happens to enjoy doing it mutualism - everyone is helped.
