Good morning Saturday Spankers. Today I'm sharing a scene with you from Dangerous Defiance which was released two weeks ago and has made three Amazon Top 100 lists! I'm kind of excited about that. This is a piece where Jackson and Jess are negotiating how they will go about this secret investigation. Jess has just told him she doesn't want him involved, but she has no idea that Sheriff Jackson Montgomery wasn't always a small town sheriff and he is certainly not about to back down against the feisty FBI agent.

“Well, don’t worry
about me; I’m a big boy and I can take care of myself.”
"I don’t know,"
she said, her arrogance grating on him a little.
“I’ll tell
you what,” he said, leaning in close, setting his elbows on the desk, “The only
thing you need to know is that if you’re
going to be involved in this at all, and that’s a big if, it’s going to be at my
side, assisting me as this is my town
and these are my people,” he said.
Her face was
already turning red with anger and she too leaned forward. “Sheriff,” she
began, "just what kind of experience do you think you have that I will be assisting you in this investigation? I mean, I
could always report you for spank… for what you just did to me.”
He raised his
eyebrows at that and sat back in his chair. When one side of his mouth went up
into a smile he tried hard to control, she too sat back, fisting her hands, her
face even more red. It was, in a way, cute, but it only fueled his resolve
that she was too emotional and she couldn’t be involved, not in any capacity
other than to assist him far from the action.
“What
did I just do to you, Ms. Manning?”

I love a strong woman in this situation. I worry that vanilla's see woman in our books as wimps. This is obviously not true here!
She was a strong stubborn woman, but he won out. Was there ever any doubt. Loved this book, glad it is doing so well.
"I mean, I could always report you for spank"... such a centered, strong and defining woman of strength... and your snippet leaves so much to the imagination and ponder in that ending quandary for her to contemplate... lovely Natasha...
Two strong characters make a sizzling story :) love this snippet and really love the dynamic between these two. Congrats on the top 100 lists!:)
