His To Breed Pulled from Amazon

**Updated Friday, August 22**
We've retitled the book as Given to the Savage and modified both cover and blurb and it's now up on Amazon.

Good morning everyone. I've been getting a lot of e-mails and messages asking where His To Breed went and I figure it's easier to put up this post in case I miss anyone when replying.

If you've been following along, Amazon adult tagged His To Breed with vague information as to why it was tagged. My publisher updated the blurb but it wasn't enough. They wanted changes to title and cover as well. I'm bummed because I loved all three of those things but if we left it as it was, it would remain invisible so we pulled the book late last night and are working to have it up for sale again soon. I'm sad about it but it is what it is. I will put up a post as soon as I have the ok that all is well.

Thanks to everyone for your support, your kind words and messages, your shares and tweets and just everything. It's all very much appreciated.

Aww Natasha, I'm so sorry you had to pull the book. I hope you are able to work things through and get it back up soon.

I'm sorry. I loved all these things about your book too. But I'm just as positive that James and Korey will make it just as beautifull the second time around. And think--you get to have TWO release days. Keep your chin up Lady! Mwah

Sorry this happened to you. :( They have been squeamish with the word Breed, but I loved the cover. They are very picky now.

Sorry to hear that. I'm glad I bought it before it was pulled.

Sorry to hear that it is pulled. Maybe you can turn it into a positive, have a contest to rename the book. Fan submit their idea for a title and the winner gets a free copy. I will hate to see the cover go, it was beautiful!

I will admit I usually avoid books with "breed" in the title, but when I read the blurb (before it was taken down) I was like "Hmm... this one sounds interesting maybe I'll try it sometime" knowing that Amazon is being so stupid about it definitely makes me want to buy a copy when it comes back up. ***HUGS***

Sorry Natasha. I know how that feels. I lost my first book and it was never put back up. I hope you have better luck xoxoxo

this sucks, Natasha :( too bad your publisher wasn't able to help. I was gonna suggest TrueAwesome and Smashwords if you'd self-published. Good luck on getting some remedy for this- and it goes back up somewhere, make sure to give me a message and we'll set up a Sunday for you to promo on my blog

Me too. Thanks Roz.

That is the way to look at it! For a second, I got excited too. I do love and dread release day...

Thanks Daizie. It's crappy, absolutely and there are way more explicit covers/titles out there. They just need to give us a list of acceptable or not so we can do what we need to do, you know?

Thanks Cara. I hope you enjoy it.

I know. I read your other post too that you'd read the book Jule. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and this is a good idea! I think my publisher has some titles in mind already but if they don't work out, I'm doing it!!

Thanks Polly. I'm not thinking of it as a total loss just yet. It is a beautiful story, sad but beautiful so I hope to get it out again - watered down on the outside at least but not on the inside!

Thanks Constance and thanks for the chat.

Thank you Joelle. I'm hoping it will still get resolved and it will one way or another. And thanks for the offer to promo on your blog.

Amazon is so ridiculous. The word breed has been widely used in book titles this past year, and NOW it's an issue? So sorry the book got pulled and you have to change the cover and title.

Unknown said...

Sorry. Did you pull it from the other booksellers too?

Unknown said...

I know. I just got unlucky I think. Hoping for better luck the next time around...

Unknown said...

It wasn't at other booksellers yet luckily. Amazon was quick to tag it so SNP never had it uploaded.

And Lolita is still for sale. Is this hypocrisy or have I fallen through a gap in the universe? I shall add a link and advise everyone to do so: outgoing and ingoing links sweep up the flow of algorithms. They only revenge is success and sex every day. I wish them both for you Natasha - http://chloethurlow.com/2014/07/sex-every-day/

Sorry it had to happen, but I'm relieved to hear that SNP pulled it, and not Amazon. From all the messages on FB (including mine) I thought Amazon did it. I think we ought to do a release party for your second release. Check with Renee and see if you can do one on Spanking Romance Reviews. You've got a lot of support behind you, Natasha, and I know people want a way to show it.

So sorry - you will prevail though.

Natasha,

Like Cara, I'm glad I bought a copy before this happened. That cover is incredible. Alas, this is another risible example of Zon's "cleaning up the storefront" campaign. It still boggles the mind that the same retailer that openly sells a panoply of sex toys, or brutal horror/spatter fiction (and movies) then has a coronary over the word "breed", or a tastefully bare hip.

As Chloe put it so well, this stuff sometimes makes me feel like I've fallen through a gap in the Universe too.

It's so absurdist, it's almost funny. Almost:/
