Wanting it All: Livia Grant Shares an Excerpt

I've invited Livia Grant to use my blog today while she is working to get her own up and running. She is sharing an excerpt from her very first release, Wanting it All. I've only had the chance to read excerpts so far and I can't wait to dig into her book. It's sitting on my Kindle yelling at me to hurry up already! Here's Livia...

I want to thank Natasha for hosting me today.  I’ve been reading her blog for a long time, so having a chance to highlight my debut novel here is really amazing.   Wanting it All is the first in the four book Passion Series.  Book two, Securing it All, is due out in September and book three, Having it All, later this fall.  The release date is still TBD for Protecting it All, book four.  I would be thrilled if you would give my story a read.

As I wrote my series, I knew I was breaking some pretty big rules that many publishers were going to hate, but it’s those controversial plot decisions that I feel give my series their own little personality.   I’m grateful to Blushing Books for taking a chance on me and my story.   Several fans of the story have described it like going on a roller coaster ride and I guess I can see that.  Hopefully you like roller coasters as much as I do!

I won’t give too much away, but there is one key differentiator that bares a warning.  This book takes on the taboo topic of infidelity and how a marriage can fight back from the unforgivable.  The first half of Wanting it All in particular is not for the faint of heart as there are some very edgy scenes that border on non-consensual, but readers who stick with me will be rewarded with a very rich character driven story with multiple HEA’s.   There is a strong BDSM theme throughout the entire series, but the story is as much about the psychology behind people’s desires for domination and submission as it is the smoking hot physical sexual activities.

BLURB
Brianna Lambert has it all. After escaping an abusive ex-Dom, she has the good fortune to find and marry the love of her life. Markus’ gentle and devoted love has helped her put the pieces of her life back together. There’s only one problem. As the years go by, Brianna finds herself missing the excitement of the BDSM lifestyle. If only she could talk to her gentle husband about her secret desire to be dominated in the bedroom, but as a submissive, she finds she can’t make the words come.

When her ex-Dom resurfaces in her life, the flames of lost desire are reignited, leading Brianna to make a decision with shattering consequences.

As Brianna’s best friend, Tiffany O’Sullivan understands and even shares Brianna's hidden desire for a alpha male to protect, cherish and punish her when she's earned it. Still, Tiff is furious when Bri puts her life and marriage at risk for a fling with her abusive ex.

When Brianna disappears, Tiff tracks her down at a local BDSM club where Markus has sent his wayward wife to atone for her infidelity at the hands of his own best friend - club owner, Master Lukus Mitchell. Tiff may go to The Punishment Pit to rescue her best friend, but quickly finds she may need rescuing herself after encountering the Master’s Master. And when Markus is again ready to confront his wayward wife he, too, must come to terms with a secret past.

Wanting It All explores the delicate balance of dominance and submission as well as the importance of trust and communication within D/s relationships with a story that features believable characters along with explicit, no-holds-barred acts of sexual dominance and submission, as well as domestic discipline.

In one extraordinary weekend, four best friends are thrown into circumstances that force them to open old wounds and dig deep to discover what they really need to make them happy in life.

If you're looking for a book featuring an explicit, intimate, and heartfelt look into the physical and psychological attraction of BDSM, this is the one book you must put on your reading list.

EXCERPT
Brianna’s heart is breaking. Witnessing Markus’ pain is her final undoing. The fact that he could walk out and leave her here tells her that she has truly lost him. She knows she should be afraid of what’s to come, but on another level she welcomes the pain she knows she’s about to receive. She deserves it.

She slowly looks up until her gaze falls upon the haunting dark eyes of her captor.

“I have some really bad news for you, sweetheart,” he says. “Markus is my friend – a very old friend. I owe him big time. So here’s how this is going to go. I’m going to take you down to that stage. And once we’re there, I’m going to make you wish you had never been born.”

When Brianna refuses to break his gaze, his grim scowl turns into an evil smile. “I see. So you think I’m bluffing? You don’t believe me?”

After several more seconds of their showdown, Brianna finally answers in a defeated tone. “Oh, I believe you. I just don’t care. I deserve everything you’re going to give me and more. You were right. I had it all, and I threw it all away. If I’ve lost Markus, then there’s nothing you can do that will hurt worse than that.” She continues to stare at him defiantly when it hits her. “So your name is Lukus? As in the Lukus he just won a case for today?”

Lukus smirks. “So now you understand just how much I owe him. The ironic thing is tonight was meant to be a celebration for me and Derek and Markus. Instead, you had to go and let someone stick his dick in you and break my friend’s heart. I almost feel sorry for you,Brianna. I’m not the kind of man you want to make angry. But I am angry, and this is personal. You hurt my friend. I’m going to hurt you... bad.”

Wow! That is intense and I definitely want to know more. I can imagine Markus being hurt beyond compare, but I have difficulty thinking he'd want Brianna bloodied and broken, literally. However, Lukus appears intent to avenge his friend's honor, so I'm afraid Brianna is in for a very rough time with only her friend Tiff to intervene on her behalf. Chilling.
