#Spanking Romance End of Summer Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the End of Summer/Back to School Blog Hop hosted by Spanking Romance Reviews and Saturday Spankings! I'm sad that summer is over but there's nothing like a naughty back to school story... Today I'm sharing a piece from an upcoming book (unedited and untitled just yet). There's a lot of reading to do so I'll just get right to it. Amy quickly shoved her iPhone under her pillow and lay back down, just glancing at the clock. It wasn't even 5:00PM yet. She didn't expect Cade home until closer to six. She closed her eyes, willing herself to calm down, knowing she'd have to lie to him, kicking herself now for being too chicken to just go in and take the damned test!

"Hey, honey," Cade said, opening the door and walking into the bedroom. In his hand, he carried a huge bouquet of wild flowers which only added to her guilt.

"Hi," she said, trying to make herself sound sick.

"Are you feeling ok?" he asked, coming toward her, his hand moving to her forehead to check if she felt warm when he saw her lying in bed. "It's not like you to lie around."

"I felt nauseous after lunch and just a little dizzy and warm so I thought I'd lie down and take it easy."

"You do feel a little warm," he said.

She did? 

She cleared her throat. "I called to postpone my exam. I wanted to be 100% to take it, you know?"

He studied her, turning her face from side to side, examining her as he would a patient. "You look a little flushed, but maybe that's all these blankets," he said, pushing them down to her waist. "You got dressed?"

She'd just gotten home an hour ago after meeting Lydia for an impromptu shopping trip. With her afternoon freed up, Lydia had needed help finding a dress for a date and Amy had joined her. 

"I never got undressed. I was fine this morning, it was just after lunch that I started to feel strange."

Just then, the phone she'd tucked under her pillow buzzed with a message. She'd been texting Lydia just before Cade had gotten home.

"What's that?" he asked, reaching for the phone before she could grab it.

"Oh, probably Lydia. I told her I wasn't feeling well," Amy lied.

Cade read the display and spoke to her while he scrolled through what she knew were the previous messages. "Your professor called to say he was concerned that you'd missed this exam." Still scrolling and not meeting her eye, "I remember you making up the last one but hadn't realized you'd missed so many classes this month," he finished, turning his attention to her then, his gaze very serious.

Was he waiting for an answer? She just stared up at him.

He looked back to the phone when it buzzed with another message. "Looks like Lydia found a nice dress," he said, holding the phone up for Amy to see the picture.

Amy looked at it and the message just before which read: Perfect fit, shopping was fun this afternoon. Thanks for coming with!

"Cade, I can explain…" she began. "I wasn't feeling well enough to take the test, I still feel warm, you said so yourself…" She started to sit up but he put a hand on her shoulder, and lay her back down.

"Why don't you lie down, honey. I'll just get my medical bag and take your temperature properly before we continue this conversation. In the meantime, why don't you roll over onto your belly and pull your pants and panties down to get ready for me." He stood and Amy swallowed.

"What?" she began, her body reacting even at the thought of the humiliation he intended. He'd always been dominant with her, it was something she always sought out in men. But this sounded different. He sounded different, like he knew all along she was lying, and today, he was going to punish her for it.

"Here," he said, reaching over to his side of the bed and handing her his pillow. "Slip this under your hips for me. I'll be right back. Make sure you're in position."

She stared at his back as he walked out the door, her mouth too dry to respond, her body a whirlwind of emotions: excitement, rebellion, resistance.  He was going to teach her a lesson, she knew it. But he wouldn’t do it really, would he? Surely he didn’t intend on taking her temperature in that most embarrassing way possible?
