What's Up With Natasha? Where The Heck Has She Been?

I feel as though I have been silent forever. We just wrapped up summer break a few weeks ago and my kids have started school. My older daughter just started middle school and she has so much homework now, it's like hours and hours of it and she seems to like me to sit with her through these endless hours. And the homework is, of course, in Dutch, so for me to help means translating to make sure I understand what they're talking about... My husband did order me the answer book for math, bless him. I realize I'm not on social media much either but I just have to choose what I do with the time I have, and for me, it's writing the books.

Okay, work stuff! I missed the one year anniversary of Given to the Savage! Not surprising considering I miss our wedding anniversary and have every year since we were married. So goes life. But, Given to the Savage is now one year (and a few weeks) old and I'm thrilled to say it's now available in paperback as well as audio and ebook! Oh, speaking of which, if anyone would like to try Audible and would like a FREE audio code for Given to the Savage, let me know. I have a few and would be happy to give them out until they run out. I only ask that you review the audio version once you're finished listening to it! Just star reviews are fine, no text required on Audible.

Can I talk about Given to the Savage for a moment? I'm going to anyway, but being polite. This book was a milestone for me. It was the first darker book I'd written and it's probably always going to be my baby. My daughter likes me to tell her the story (PG version) and with that one, her eyes fill up with tears when I get to the part where Rowan is being sent out of the colony and she always tells me 'mom, can you go to the end now real quick'. So sweet. Anyhow, she's become my plotting partner. I tell her my story ideas and if she listens wide eyed without interrupting, I start writing! But back to Savage — for months after it published, I struggled with what I wanted to write and I realized just a few months ago that it felt natural for me to tell a darker tale not for the sake of the dark, but for the ability to better explore the characters and give them space to be whoever they develop into without restraints.

Moving on. I'm a rambler by nature, in case you had not noticed. Coming up! I am planning on releasing a Dark Paranormal Romance later this month. I'd been going back and forth about writing contemporary or paranormal, but honestly, I just needed a break from contemporary and I'm glad I took it because I'm currently working on a contemporary and feel re-energized for the break. Hopefully, you all enjoy the paranormal. More to come on that soon.

That's it for me! Hope you are all doing really really well!

I have noticed you've been keeping a low profile. Congrats on the book anniversary, it had a bumpy start when it got adult tagged, but it's done very well for you. Looking forward to your dark paranormal.

Congrats on your one year anniversary. Given to the Savage was such an awesome book and I've loved all of your darker, edgier books since. (not that I didn't like your books before) I love how you take your characters and readers to the edge. Looking forward to your paranormal. Sounds like you have a budding author on your hands there too!

She's nuts, as you know! I love it too though. Over the summer, we played mermaids in the pool and plotted out the details... LOL

I'm thinking you have or will have one of your own too, yes? :D Thank you!

It's not on purpose, but just sort of happens and the time zone differences don't help. Remember that start? That was awful, but it taught me that you can survive the adult tag.

Thank you! I will send you a code. I just started listening to audio when running and I can run longer for it so I am kind of loving it.
