Melissa's Saving Grace: Guest Post by Corinne Alexander

Melissa’s Saving Grace
Corinne Alexander

Blurb
Melissa Toselli is a wild child with a troubled past. Having been on her own since she was fifteen she is desperate to find the one who will take her into his arms, heart, and control. She has a tendency to pick all the wrong men for all the wrong reasons.

Unbeknownst to Melissa she has caught Corbin’s Bend newbie, Jason Donovan’s, attention. The wild spitfire stirred something inside of him that he could not let go. He could see right through Melissa’s devil may care attitude to the vulnerable child within who just needed someone to care for and watch out for her. She was crying out for some guidance; both the kind that would tuck her in at night and the kind that would take her over a knee for some much needed discipline and structure.

Can Jason give Melissa what she needs and tame the wild child that she is? Can he show her the way a true gentleman treats the woman he has feelings for? Will Melissa turn out to be too much for Jason to handle? Will she fall back into her old ways? Or will Jason and Melissa find exactly what their looking for in each other?

Corinne Alexander is an erotic spanking romance writer who loves nothing more than to snuggle up with a cup of coffee, a warm blanket, and a steaming hot erotic romance. She enjoys strong alphas, feisty heroines, and a good old fashioned spanking romance. A Brush of Violet (Corbin’s Bend) is her debut novella, now up for the Golden Flogger Award. Corinne’s favorite kind of day is when she can slip away into nature to get lost in her daydreams (spinning her fantasies) with the forest floor under her feet, the wind rustling through her hair, and sunbeams kissing her face.

Excerpt
Setting her down on the sofa, he sat next to her. He should probably let her sober up the rest of the way before having this conversation. Taking in the firm set of her jaw and ramrod straight line of her spine, she was obviously ready to have this out now. “What were you thinking, Melissa?” He started as gently as he could, but could feel all of his earlier emotions begin to boil again.
Melissa obviously felt them too because she immediately went on the defensive. Her eyes flashed. “You think there’s something wrong with going out dancing?”
He leveled his eyes on hers. “Is that really the stance you want to take right now?”
“Why not?” she spat. “I went out to have some fun. While I admit it got a little out of control, it’s over now. As you can see, I’m fine.”
His mouth dropped open in dismay. “A little out of control,” he sputtered. “Melissa, if I hadn’t found you, who knows what would have happened to you.” He clenched his fists. “You were passed out against a wall for God’s sake.”
“So what are you going to do about it?” she dared him.
Shock zinged through him as her words sunk in. He didn’t know what had gotten into his normally level-headed friend, but this was not a dare he was going to resist. “Melissa, so help me you are about to wind up panties down, bottom up over my knee if you don’t take this conversation seriously, starting now.”
“Oh, I’m taking it seriously, Jason,” she answered back, the fire gone from her voice. “I just think you’re exactly like everyone else in this community. You talk a big game, rushing in to rescue me, but you’re afraid to put your money where your mouth is and give me what I really need.”
Was she really daring him to spank her? Did she honestly think he wouldn’t follow through? His mind scrambled to keep up with the turn of events along with any potential ramifications, but there was no doubt in his mind that before this night was over she would be getting exactly what she asked for.
“Are you going to spank me or what?” she asked, a fierce bravado flashing in her eyes.
He shook his head at the sheer courage she could muster at the blink of an eye. He stood, pulling her with him. Crooking a finger under her chin, he lifted it so that he could look into her shining eyes. “Oh, I’m going to blister your bottom all right,” he said, lowering his voice, allowing the energy to sizzle between them for a few heartbeats. He ran his hands down her arms noticing the little shiver she gave at the contact. “But not yet.” He could see how desperately she needed to gather her thoughts. There would be no spanking until he determined that she was sober and in a better frame of mind. Turning her toward the bathroom, he gave her bottom a soft smack. “Take a shower. We’ll talk when you’re done.” She gave a little squeak, but headed in the direction he sent her.

Safe Under Protection: Guest Post by Holla Dean

I'd like to welcome author Holla Dean on my blog today with her new release, Safe Under Protection, a new addition to the Corbin's Bend books. As soon as I read the blurb for this book, I knew it was something I'd have to read and I'm thrilled to share a snippet with you all today!

Blurb

After spotting a mafia hit, Jess and Colleen Bradley find their life turned upside down and on the run. With nowhere else to turn and to protect their family, they accept the assistance of the witness protection program. Their U.S. Marshal, Jack Carmichael, convinces them to move to a small community in Colorado run by his brother.
Jess and Colleen Bradley become Russ and Debi Hunter, the newest residents of Corbin’s Bend. Forty years of a vanilla marriage makes them a little out of place in this spanking community. With new names and new jobs, Debi is a little stressed out with her new surroundings. She keeps messing up and calling Russ by his old name. After a successful erotic spanking just to see what all the fuss is about, Russ decides a real spanking might be just what’s called for to get Debi to remember his new name and relieve her of some of the stress she’s feeling.
Just as they begin to find peace as their new selves in the wilds of Colorado, the protection they feel shatters when Jack calls with the bad news that their security has been compromised and Debi realizes she’s being tailed.  As Brent Carmichael and Russ rush out to find Debi and get the two to safety, it might be too late because at that moment, two hit men are set on making sure Debi and Russ are not safe under protection.

Excerpt
All thoughts of spankings had been wiped from her mind with her excitement over her purchases.
“Jess? Oh shit, I mean Russ? Are you home?” She knew he was, his van was in the garage.
“Yeah, up here, Debi.”
She ran up the stairs hoping he hadn’t heard her slip-up. It wasn’t on purpose, she told herself. Even though she’d been thinking of doing it on purpose, she wasn’t in the mood to try out a punishment spanking right now. She was excited about what she’d bought for her classroom.
“Hi, honey. Wait till you see what I bought for the kids.”
“Debi, come here.”
His voice was a little funny, she thought. Stern and serious and even commanding. The way he said ‘come here,’ like he was so sure she would obey. The funny thing was that she found herself going to him without any hesitation. She obeyed.
“We made a rule, Debi. You just broke it.”
Oh god, he had heard her slip up.
“I know, honey. But it was just because I was all excited.”
“You agreed you would be punished if you slipped up again on the name thing.”
“I know, but I don’t feel like it right now. I want to show you the stuff I bought.”
Russ sighed. “I doubt many people feel like getting punished. But we agreed, and you’re going to be punished. Now.”
“No! Russ, come on. I know I agreed, but let’s do it later.” Debi suddenly felt panicky and her belly did a flip-flop. Her thighs pressed tightly together and she felt the dampness of her panties. But she didn’t want to experience a punishment spanking now.
“Let’s go to the bedroom now.”
He used that different voice again and for some strange reason, even though she didn’t want to, she found herself obeying and going to the bedroom with him.
“Get undressed.” He kept his clothes on and sat on the edge of the bed.
“Everything?” she asked in little more than a whisper.
She watched his face as he thought about it and could tell when he made up his mind. Did that glint in his eye mean he was looking forward to punishing her? Or was he planning to ravish her when he was done with the punishment? She could only hope it was the latter.
“Yes, everything.”
Oh, that voice, she thought as she unbuttoned her blouse.
“Are you getting undressed?”
“No, I’m not the one getting spanked.”
She remembered the woman from the block party whose husband believed sex after punishment was a reward. Was that what Russ was thinking? She slipped off her panties and was naked. Swallowing hard, she waited for his next command.
“Come here.”
His legs were slightly parted and she stood between them. He put his hands on her hips and lightly caressed her skin.
“We agreed to this, right?”
She nodded her head, her eyes slightly wider than usual.
“You rushed into the house and called out my old name. Didn’t you?”
She nodded again and whispered, “Yes.”
“What if someone was up here with me?”
“But I knew there wasn’t anyone else here. There were no cars in front of the house.”
“What if Brent or Jason, or anyone for that matter, had walked over and we were up here when you yelled out my old name?”
“It would have been awkward. I’m sorry J…Russ.” She couldn’t believe she just messed up again.
“It would have been more than just awkward. It would start people talking. You have to work harder at this, Debi. It’s our safety that’s the issue here. Do you understand?”
Jeez, the lecture was making her feel worse than she thought the spanking would.
“Yes, I do. I understand.”
“Good.” Russ patted his thigh and said, “Now get over my knee.”

A Perfect Partnership by Rayanna Jamison

I have Rayanna Jamison here to share an excerpt from A Perfect Partnership.

Blurb

Josiah Jefferson left the polygamist community he grew up in to make a new home in Corbin's Bend. He wanted to find the one  woman he could love and spank for the rest of his life. When a summer storm blows beautiful Lannea Paulsen into his life, he sees it as fate and never looks back.

Lannea Paulsen, better known as Laney to everyone but the stubborn Josiah, has had two goals since she moved to Corbin's Bend last year. Save enough money to buy half of The Ginger Paddle, the sushi restaurant she runs with her cousin, and find a strong dominant man who is willing and ready to take her in hand in every way possible.

When Laney puts the business in jeopardy, Josiah comes to the rescue. One thing leads to another and they find themselves in a tumultuous platonic  DD relationship. Sparks fly  as they both refuse to admit the depth of their true feelings. Will they settle for less than they desire or will they chase after everything they have ever wanted?

Excerpt

Lannea stood on the Josiah’s doorstep, unsure of why she had come. It hadn’t been hard to figure out where he lived, and she need only look for the police car parked in a driveway where she hadn’t remembered there being one before. Not quite ready to knock, and still considering chalking her being here up to a temporary bout of insanity, she pulled her thin sweater jacket tighter around her body. It was unusually cool for late August, a remnant of last night’s storm.
She stood there, shivering, more from nervousness than from cold and argued with herself. Am I really that desperate for a spanking? She asked herself.
I must be, I’m here aren’t I? I should just go. She told herself, starting to turn away.
No! You need this! You’ve needed this for a long time, and if the hot and charming although strangely naive cop is the only one seriously offering, then so be it. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.
She raised her hand to knock. A gift horse? I’m not sure this is a gift horse. We barely know the guy. He’s probably some creepy psycho serial killer, and the polite innocent act is all a ruse. She lowered her hand.
Matt and Julie don’t seem to think so.
She raised her hand again. This was ridiculous. Was she really standing here in the cold having an argument with herself? She was, and she was getting nowhere with it.  Time to fish or cut bait. Which is it going to be? Unbelievable. She was still talking to herself. This had to stop. It was time to fish. Holding her breath, she knocked.
Josiah answered quickly, and hot damn. He was shirtless, clad in only a pair of well-worn button fly Levi’s.  The uniform did not do him justice, she realized. The breath she had been holding came out in a stunned whoosh. Who cares if he turns out to be a psychotic serial killer? You’re going to let him spank you, right? Right? I mean, what a way to go!
“I assure you, I’m not a serial killer of any sort, psychotic or otherwise.”
Her eyes widened, and she felt herself turn purple. She had said that out loud? Oh my god. Kill me. Just kill me right now, she thought to herself, careful not to speak aloud this time.
“But, I will spank you, if that’s what you decide you want.”
Frozen in place from the utter humiliation of even being there in the first place, she raised her eyes to meet his. She saw only humor, and kindness, and that effortless charm of his that was going to be the death of her. “I-I don’t know what I want. I don’t even know why I’m here.”
“Fair enough. Why don’t you come in? I was just about to try some of that wine that was in the welcome basket. Would you like a glass?”
Her brain went numb at the mention of the welcome basket. Josiah had one? Well, of course he did. Which meant he also had…the Corbin’s Bend paddle.  It was the very object of all her dreams and fantasies. Her throat went dry. Would he want to use it on her? Would she let him?

A Brush of Violet by Corinne Alexander

My friend Corinne Alexander has released her first book and she's here to share an excerpt from the latest in the Corbin's Bend series, A Brush of Violet... Here she is!

He led her over to the clubhouse to the room he had mentioned the day before, the one that needed a special key to enter.

He led her into the dimly lit room. The first thing she noticed was that the soundproof padding she was expecting to see on the walls was completely concealed behind tasteful paneling. The room was warm and inviting, yet there was a distinct air of being strictly serviceable too. Along one side of the room sat several chairs that looked like might be for observers as there were about four in a row. There was also a straight back chair with no arms toward the center of the room and an arm chair toward the wall. A couch sat against a far wall.
However, what caught her attention was an apparatus in the right hand corner of the room. It was a bench of sorts. The end facing toward the room was just slightly lower than waist high. There was a padded bench that laid flat and then angled down toward the floor. There were cuffs around the legs of the front part of the bench and at the end of the bench along a bar.
Charles made his way toward a closet on the end of the room that the bench was on. The sight that beheld her as he opened the closet door made her gasp. There hanging on the wall behind the door was an array of every implement that she could imagine awaiting a naughty bottom to be applied to. There were floggers, belts, straps, paddles, and canes. They were in every shape, size, and type of spanking implement that there was. Violet shuddered in anticipation as she fingered a long supple strap made of leather. There was something about leather that made her knees go weak, but it was the jingle of the belt as it was unbuckled, the whir of air as it slid through its loops, and the crack of the leather against bare flesh that always got her. There was something deliciously alpha about a man who wielded a belt.

Blurb
High powered business woman, Violet Walker, has long left her artistic days behind. That is until her best friend, Everleigh Harris, invites her to Corbin's Bend for an art festival. What Everleigh doesn't know is that Violet hasn't been able to paint a single brush stroke since turning her back on her submissive desires and spanking needs in college. When she meets charismatic and drop dead gorgeous Charles her world is turned completely upside down. Will Violet, overworked, burnt out, and in denial of her deepest wants and desires, be able to surrender when love knocks on her door?
Charles Robinson, President of the discipline Board in Corbin’s Bend and longtime resident, adores the community he lives in and the freedom it provides for all who live there. Raised in a traditional family; love and discipline are a way of life for him. There’s nothing he wants more than a marriage just like his parents where spanking and romance go hand in hand, even if that means holding out for true love. Is Violet just the kind of woman he’s looking for?
Will Violet risk the life she’s built for herself in blood, sweat, and tears for the undeniable connection she has with Charles, the utter bliss and contentment she feels when she’s over his lap? Can Charles convince Violet she really can have it all? Will this trip be just what she needs to rekindle all that she has lost since joining the corporate world?

Excerpt
Her stomach did a little flip as he drove them to his house. She assumed he still had every intention of spanking her, and she was on board. But now she was kind of hoping for even more and what if a spanking made it so that she couldn’t enjoy anything afterward? Just how much pain would she be in when all was said and done?

Brandon’s house was much smaller than her grandparents’, and it was rather comfortable. After he got them each a glass of wine, he sat down on the sofa and pulled her down next to him. “You don’t have to be afraid of me,” he said into her ear. “I won’t do anything you don’t want.”

Giggling nervously, because she hadn’t realized how much she was emitting her worried state, she snuggled into his warm arms. “I want everything.” Realizing how blunt that sounded, she winced and looked up into his gray eyes.

“You want an erotic spanking and sex?” he asked, speaking the words she didn’t think she could say.

“Yes.” The thought of being in his arms and having sex made her blood boil. It had been too long since she had been with a man and somehow she knew Brandon would make things good.

“All right.” He removed the wine from her hands and put both glasses on the coffee table. “We can have that later. Come with me.” Standing up, he took her hand and pulled her to her feet. She trailed along after him into his bedroom. The walls were clear except for a picture of him in his dress uniform with two people flanking him that she assumed were his parents. The room itself was taken up with a huge bed and her eyes snapped onto it.
